Smartphones and social media have become major parts of our lives. They are designed using cutting edge research about how human brains and attention spans work to make them incredibly compelling, impacting mental health and relationships especially when families clash over their use. These conflicts can offer opportunities for dialogue, about values and about coexisting with care in a technological dynamic world. We’ll review some of the research on smartphone based and discuss ideas for optimal responses.
